Kirstin Briones, RYT-500, End of Life Doula (she/her)

I have happily called Austin home since 2011. I grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio, and then I spent a couple of decades in Orlando, Florida where I worked for the Walt Disney World company.

 When my family relocated to Austin, it instantly felt like we were home. However, a few years later, our lives took an unexpected turn when my husband was diagnosed with cancer. Losing him and going through that challenging period reshaped the course of my life entirely. It was during this difficult time that I rediscovered yoga and then answered my calling as a doula.

 I have always found volunteering very meaningful. In 2023 I began volunteering for Swan Songs, an organization in Austin that arranges musical last wishes concerts for individuals with a terminal illness or nearing the end of life. I recently accepted a full time position as a concert coordinator. This role beautifully combines my love for music with my passion for being an end-of-life doula.

In my spare time, I love to read, attend music concerts, play my ukulele, and hang out with my sons, our dog and two cats.
